Playing ExperienceFifteen Years experience as a player (high school, college [club team] and adult [Yankee Volleyball Association/USVBA]) Coaching PhilosophyMy passion for coaching volleyball came when my daughter was in junior high school in 8th grade. Having coached this age group, I understand the unique challenges facing students, parents and their families. I am a firm believer that family and academics come before athletics and that being an athlete is a privilege. Coaching is not just about teaching a skill to win a game; it’s about teaching young people to believe in themselves, to increase their self-esteem, and encouraging them to be leaders and role models for younger children. The greatest reward for me in working with young adults is to see their sense of accomplishment when they know they gave a challenge 110% and they feel good about what they did! This will provide them with life skills they need to become successful, well-rounded, confident adults. Fun FactsI love camping and riding (as a passenger) on a motorcycle. I scrapbook for relaxation. I love to have crazy colors and designs on my nails. My cat, Harold, brings me great joy when I come home and the first thing he does is want to get up on my shoulder and love me. Doug Oxford was the coach of an adult team that I played on years ago. My daughter played at Capital Region for 3 years and loved it. Contact InformationPlease login to access contact information. |
